Premiered by IOCSF in 2011, this spare, contemplative setting of an early sonnet of e.e. cummings remains a favorite. It was featured at the 2013 Aries Composers Festival and chosen as a Recommended Work by the C7 Prize in 2014. Also available through Project Encore. 3' long, SATB with no divisi, suitable for high school, college, and adult ensembles.

This exuberant setting of Gerard Manley Hopkins' sonnet is among my more ambitious pieces, yet crafted to be reasonably easy to sightread. Premiered by IOCSF in 2016, it won second prize in the 2016 Ithaca College Composition Competition. Also available through Project Encore. 2'30" long, SATB with limited divisi, suitable for advanced high school, college, and adult ensembles.
Premiered by IOCSF in 2015, this is a folk-songish yet rhythmically and, in places, tonally ambitious rendering of Lermontov's classic poem about restless wandering. Lyrics in transliterated Russian. 3' long, SATB with alto and bass divisi, suitable for advanced high school, college, and adult ensembles.
This "song of ascents", setting verses from Psalm 130 in a mixture of Latin, English, and Hebrew, uses contrapuntal explorations of unusual scales to create an eerie evocation of the Psalmist's longing to find a way "out of the depths". SATB with divisi up to 8 parts, suitable for advanced college or adult ensembles. Approximately 4 1/2 minutes long. Premiered in original form by IOCSF in 2015, revised 2018.
I've written a number of other pieces whose scores aren't yet available for online purchase for various reasons. These are SATB a cappella pieces, some with divisi up to 8 parts, written between 2010 and the present day. They range from 3 to 5 minutes long and are generally suitable for advanced high school choirs or for college or adult choirs. Some have been premiered by IOCSF over the years, others are as yet unperformed. They include settings of the following texts:
- Yerushalayim Shel Zahav (Shemer; in Hebrew)
- Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor (Lazarus)
- Hymn of Breaking Strain (Kipling)
- i like my body when it is with your (e.e. cummings)
- The Lake Isle of Innisfree (Yeats)
Please contact me if you are interested in perusal scores of any of these pieces.
